Borrowed from 's blank world map.
I was inspired by a map and Timeline called Russian America in some wiki and decided to take a stab on it. I've also knew the author of the timeline.

The POD is that the Russian-American company is more aggressive in colonizing Fort Ross. The Russians aided the Mexicans in their independence from Spain; however, the Catholic Mexicans and Orthodox Russians had broke off around the Fort Ross issue. As a result, it allowed the Americans to annex parts of Mexico as in OTL.
Hawaii in the meantime is a British protectorate; it resisted attempts to be annexed by the United States. There are plans that they are to be colonized and added to Canada [eh?], but they are shelved. The protectorate was removed by Britain in 1890. Ironically, it was the Japanese after the Russo-Japanese war who annexed Hawaii. As a result, the Russians and the Americans guarded the Japanese carefully. Meanwhile, in World War I, the Alaskan colonies seceded from Russia; however, some of the republics are Bolshevik friendly; one even was Trotskyist [which was promptly crushed by the Alaskan SSR.] The Anglo [meaning OTL Canadian and American or Cascadian] Russian colonies had allied themselves with anti-Bolshevik Slavs and gang up the Alaskan SSR; as a result, it was reduced to the Aleutian Islands in 1937 and begged to join the USSR, which the latter granted. when World War II struck, Japanese forces from OTL Pearl Harbor attempted a repeat of Battle of Tsushima to San Francisco Harbor. The Americans despite their relative laxity just sprang up and swatted them. The Russians and Alaskans patched up their differences and joined the war against Japan. Japan had been divided into Soviet, Alaskan, and American zones and permitted to rearm as in OTL; Manchuria was converted to a Soviet satellite state. Korea is divided as in OTL and the Korean War happened as OTL; the difference is that Mao's forces were joined by native Manchurians in the counterattack meant to save Kim Il Sung. However, in 1956, there was the Komandorski Islands crisis where the Alaskans and the Russians clashed in Aleutia; later, most of Aleutia was turned over by the Soviets into Alaska. The Alaskans had left NATO, felt abandoned. They purchased arms from Finland, therefore arming themselves with the same weapons the Soviets had. The Alaskan AVAR-65 was the Alaskan copy of the Finnish RK-62 assault rifle.
Hawaii was given independence as in OTL. Its restored King then successfully pressured to give the other Pacific colonies independence, and where not possible, as in the Maori, autonomy.
Manchuria experienced a cultural revival of the Manchu culture, albeit mainly linguistically, and the Manchu alphabet was written in Cyrillic. As a result, it had poor relations with China [resulting in the Sino-Vietnamese-Manchurian Border War of 1979], but the Manchus resisted the Chinese well. Even the majority is Chinese, these Chinese disliked to be run by Mao and they prefer their ethnic Manchu dictator to the mainland Chinese. They tend to follow the Moscow line, and when perestroika and the fall of the Soviet regime in 1991 followed, the Manchus did the same with the Orchid Revolution of 1991, which demonopolized Communist Party rule, albeit the Communists remained in power.
North Korea had even worse relations with the Manchus starting in 1980. North Korea's history was the same as in OTL...until 1994. The Manchus have received reports that their citizens are held up in Yodok concentration camp on suspicion of spying.
Then the One Year War happened.
The North Koreans, under Jong-il's rule, had shot down an Alaskan Airlines plane. It was turned out that the Alaskan president's daughter was in it. Enraged, the Alaskan President had declared war on North Korea. The Manchus, learning that their people were executed in Yodok, sent armor rolling into North Korea. Despite vailant efforts by the KPA, the Manchu Tiger Marksmen, as the Manchu Special Forces are now renamed, nearly assassinated Kim Jong-il [but got his wife instead] in Pyongyang-a repeat of the Soviet seizure of Kabul, only much bloodier. The UN, the Russians, the Americans, the nuclear-armed South Koreans, the nuclear-armed Communist ''and'' Nationalist Chinese, ''and'' the nuclear-armed Japanese kept watch. That is until some Korean People's Navy had sunk a Japanese trawler. The Coalition literally ganged up on North Korea, whose government under Chang Su-taek surrendered to South Korea; the North is placed under the Office of the Vice President, specifically revived in South Korea to be the voice of the North, under a defected Northern politician named Hwang Jang-yop. It took a good toll in South Korea's financial resources, but the Alaskans and the Manchus bailed them out, and the formerly two Koreas walked as one as before. The difference in the Korean Wave is that many OTL North Korean singers are indistinguishable
The Manchus finally were, in the words of a female citizen whom the media failed to identify but for a scar on her face, "vindicated by history." Both the PRC and the ROC recognized Manchuria's independence as well as Mongolia, though both Chinas mock Manchuria as Japanophile or Koreanophile weaboos.
Japan is the same as OTL except with Nukes, developed secretly, but they tend to be content with 20 ICBMs, as the Koreans wanted little more than the numbers of a Russian Typhoon nuke submarine's nuclear payload. The Manchus had twice that amount, being still pointed by Beijing, after all. Japan had a female prime minister for a while, a popular one who was a former ''porn actress'' named Ai Iijima.
As for Alaska, its south experienced a Greater Cascadia independence movement, not taken seriously by the Slavs as it was an Anglo movement. It had nuclear weapons, it is a UNSC Permanent Member]. The Novy Vestminister Kaskadianskis [the OTL name for the Vancouver Canucks] were a pain in the rival Canadian and American teams in NHL. It had a brief enviromentalist streak, but its status as an unabashed nuclear power curtailed its effectiveness, despite the Ecotopic parties attempt to influence politics. The Alaskans, especially the Slavs and the Natives, are generally conservative in politics, . However, an Anglo Prime Minister named Sara Peilin, aka Sarah Palin, took office despite her cloudcuckoolander status. She did got better as a guest in FOX news, later at Alyesknews.
Canada's Borden bought Greenland and the Turks and Caicos, both enjoy territorial status. They are horrified when the Alaskans pirated the shelved Avro Arrow, however, the Alaskans have agreed to sell the Orel Fighters under the name Arrow, which made Alaskan-Canadian relations better.
Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are US states; pressure is mounting into giving the East Samoans and the Marianas statehood. The Philippines is independent and except for a better-equipped military, gracefully provided by Alaska and Manchuria [some from its own, some captured North Korean] to a grateful Fidel Ramos, is the same situation as in OTL, not poor, but not rich either.
Note: If you are watching Hetalia from OTL, take a look at this version. Alaska appears, voiced by the same Japanese VA for Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as both Koreas [oddly sharing the same OTL seiyuu as Switzerland, which in fact is controversial given that the seiyuu in question is a Korean citizen]. Mexico also appears as a maid [that maid serving Spain in Episode 1], so is the Philippines [a girl that but for the glasses, resembled the character representing Vietnam. Strangely, Vietnam are voiced by Teh Rie Kugimiya as well as Switzerland. Mexico had the same VA as Hungary, those of the Philippines are voiced by Ayako Kawasumi. Manchuria is a girl, her somewhat more masculine voice as a result of having Mitsuki Saiga [even more masculine than Romi Paku].
