The mission was simple, all she had to do was walk up to her target, break his neck and walk away. She'd be gone before anyone even began to realise what had happened and an enemy of global communism would have been defeated.
Why gosh, Diana highly doubted that anyone would be able to comprehend that a well packaged young lady like herself would be able to dispatch a man twice her size, let alone with her speed and that bad of a break. After all breaking a neck is quite the difficult task for the average person, something she most certainly was not.
No it wasn't the difficulty of the mission that was the problem, it was the mission itself.
Diana had been following the target for ten blocks and now that she was merely feet away all she could bring herself to do was to hide behind this tree.
She knew she should leap before she looked but it was like a small quite voice in the back of her mind was fighting her and it had only gotten louder as each block passed... as she closed the distance.
She wanted to believe that it was first mission jitters, that once she commited to her very important task it would be over in a heart beat, that it wouldn't be so bad and the future, well she'd just get on with it but it just felt wrong.
Her controllers had told her that he was a threat to the spread of communism but they'd never explained how.
Diana was a good soldier, she remembered the poem Charge of The Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.
It was not her place to question orders, merely to follow and yet there were a million unanswered questions screaming at her and it had left her frozen.
She needed answers before broke Commandment number 6.
Diana left the park and strolled back to the Upper Westside apartment she'd been set up in to await her controllers.

A while back I released a quite long series called how Wonder Woman spent the 50's, she was captured by the Soviets and brainwashed into being their loyal servant/assassin. I'm calling that series phase 1 because it ended with her as my interpritation of a soviet woman.
This series represents phase 2, what happens when shes under the soviets control.
I'd recomend looking at (sorry never been much of a writer) phase one because the art work is some of my best, though you wont need to to enjoy phase 2.
