Light, Truth, Life, and Love
"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life."
John 8:12
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6
"What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim from the housetops."
Matthew 10:27
"As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete."
John 15:9-11
Light, truth, life, and all given in love: what a friend we have in Jesus! Can I get an Amen? We live in a dark world, doesn't take long to watch any of the news this week, or any other week, in order to see it. Don't get me wrong, you have to be honest and willing to look, a lot of turds getting polished up like diamonds (an Army euphemism, they're still 💩's), and a lot of distractions out there that attempt to keep us from seeing that truth, that basic truth, that the world is darkness, as on it's own it truly is. The Good News is God provides the answer, the Light, the Truth, and yes, the Life, a life abiding in His love, not for a moment, not for a day, not for just the good times, but also in the bad, an eternity even, of abiding in His perfect love. It's the Truth, the world is wicked, it's dark, not a popular statement I know, the Truth seldom is, but that doesn't make it untrue. The Good News though, even with the all the darkness, it can't destroy the Light. In fact you can do an experiment right now to visualize the Truth: turn out the lights, grab a flashlight, a candle, a lighter (kids ask your parents first, lol, totally not getting blamed for an accident 😉), and go ahead, watch what happens when the light hits the dark, even just a little light in a vast expanse of darkness (those of you who have played around in caves will understand just how big a difference a little light can make). Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, and as long as we have Him in our hearts, we indeed have life, life abundant, eternal, abiding in His love, and the darkness can never ever quench it, just as the darkness couldn't conquer your little flashlight. Easy to see for those who must see, and it's the Truth. So I'll close tonight's post with a little encouragement, encouragement for those who may feel like they're in danger of their little light going out, encouragement for those who may just now be considering stepping into His light (never too late, never anything He can't forgive, not as long as you have the breath of life in your body...), "I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!" (John 16:33) What is persecution more than the darkness, the world, trying to snuff out the Light. Apparently it didn't get the memo, Christ has conquered the world, may not look like it in the darkness, but step out in the light, you'll see... Goodnight my friends, God Bless, and may we all find our little lights shining, they do far more good than any of us think 🙏✨🙏✨🙏
